Smaller than even the smallest of minor elementals, elemental sparks are barely sentient life forces able to exert some measure of control over the elements around them. On their home plane of existence they are often prey for larger elementals, but they are often summoned by fledgling wizards and elementalists to perform simple tasks.
Living Elements. Like their larger kin, elemental sparks exist only as formless consciousness on its home plane. Even on the material plane, the elemental spark is simply a formless core surrounded by a whirling sphere of its element. Elemental sparks have no society or culture, but are innately respectful of beings who they perceive as more powerful and thus make excellent servants.
Bound in Servitude. Elemental sparks do not show the same resentment at being conjured and bound as larger elementals. In fact, they are often eager to please and take direction easily. They can be found throughout the cities of the genie taking care of menial chores or performing tasks for their master’s amusement.

Elemental Sparks as Familiars

Elemental Sparks seem like they might make good familiars. And they do! DMs may allow players to take an elemental spark as a familiar, though some may decide to restrict it to certain classes (such as the Jann Blooded Sorcerer or Warlock with the Pact of the Chain) or races (like the genasi).
