Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6+1 damage)
Mage Hunter. When a creature within 5 ft. of the hound casts a spell, the hound may use its reaction to make a bite attack against that creature.
Bred by a school of elven mages to track and eliminate a faction of their group that had turned to evil, magehounds are a prized animal and are used today to hunt demons, devils, and other evil creatures.
Magehounds have pure black coats, except for a small patch of white fur in the shape of a star on the hound’s forehead. Hounds with many pointed stars are highly desirable, while those with four or fewer are considered to be defective and are often culled to keep the breed strong.
