Shield, Light

Typically round and made of either wood covered in animal skins or metal, light shields are slightly less cumbersome than their larger counterparts and are worn strapped to the forearm. This allows you to carry a torch or other object and to make the gestures required to cast a spell with somatic components.

Buckler

A small wooden or steel shield that is worn strapped to your forearm. While wielding a buckler you may use a light weapon in that hand, wield a two handed or versatile weapon, or use that hand to cast spells that require a somatic component.

Elemental Bolt

You conjure up a mote of elemental energy. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 damage chosen from the following types: fire, cold, lightning, or acid. This spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).

Executioner’s Axe

A broad-bladed axe that is heavily weighted towards the head, the executioner’s axe can inflict brutal wounds when it lands a solid hit.

Kukri

The blade of this heavy knife is deeply curved and weighted towards the end of the blade, giving it increased slashing power.

Mordenkrad

An oversized spiked warhammer first used by dwarven shock troops against giants.

Tower Shield

A tower shield is a massive rectangular shield, often employed in organized formations.

Since banded mail inevitably will have gaps between the metal strips, however, the total protection of vital areas is not quite as good as heavier plate armors.
