Faun

Playful fey related to satyr, faun are smaller than their cousins and less prone to erratic outbursts of emotion and drunken revelry. Faun are protectors of their realms, and balance their love of food, wine, and merriment with a sense of commitment and duty.

Pranksters

Faun are friendly and amiable, but also enjoy good natured pranks. They are lighthearted and rarely serious, except when it comes to protecting his homelands and allies.

Nimble and Quick

Fauns are shorter than human males, though they are somewhat taller than either gnomes or halflings. They have short, ram-like horns and typically wear short beards, which they maintain carefully. On special occasions they often weave flowers into their hair and beards.

Faun Traits

Ability Score Modifier. Your Dexterity score increases by 2.

Age. A faun reaches adulthood at age 10 and generally lives upwards of three centuries.

Alignment. Most faun are chaotic good, though they lean more towards chaotic than good. It is not unheard of to see a neutral or evil faun, but a lawful faun is very rare indeed.

Size. Faun average about 4 feet tall and weigh about 60 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Mask of the Wild. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomenon.

Fey Ancesty. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.

Natural Skill. You have proficiency in the Nature skill.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.

Mountain

Bearing dark brown or black hair, and living high in the mountains, these faun are the most rugged and introspective of their kind.

Ability Score Modifier. You gain a +1 to Widom.

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.

Rugged Survivalist. You gain training in the Survival skill.

Natural Magic. You know the druidcraft cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the fog cloud spell once per day. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Forest

The faun of the forest have light, chestnut colored beards and fur. They are the most well known of their kind and largely responsible for the stories of faun as silver tongued tricksters.

Ability Score Modifier. You gain a +1 to Charisma.

Fey Magic. You know the vicious mockery cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Tasha's hideous laughter spell once per day. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Silver Tongued. You gain proficiency in the Persuasion skill.

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.

Island

Wild and long separated from their fey cousins, island faun are the least often encountered of their kind. They have bright red hair and are stronger and hardier than most of their kind.

Ability Score Modifier. You gain a +1 to your Constitution.

Natural Athletes. You gain proficiency in the Athletics skill.

Horns. Your horns are fully grown, and can be used as a natural weapon. If you hit with them, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. At 3rd level, the damage you deal with your horns increases to 1d8 + your Strength modifier.

Goring Charge. When you use the Dash action during your turn, you can make a melee attack with your horns as a bonus action.
