You cause your target’s wounds to turn septic, ache, and leak pus. If the target has less than its maximum hit point total it must make a Constitution save. On a failure, it takes 4d8 poison damage and is poisoned until it has regained its full total hit points. During this time, magical healing only restores half the normal amount of hit points. On a save, it takes half damage but there is no further effect.

If this spell is cast on a target that has its full hit point total, it takes no damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you deal an additional 1d8 damage for each slot level above 2nd.
